I Will Teach you to be Rich

A unique perspective from a personal finance book.

Many finance books recommend saving money by cutting back on latès and keeping a tight budget. This book teaches how to spend money on the things that you want by being smart with your money in other ways.

  1. Relentlessly cut spending on things that you don’t want
  2. Earn more money by getting a better job or a raise
  3. Invest and save
  4. Automate your finances

I enjoyed this book because it offers a fresh perspective on personal finance that makes sense. It makes a much bigger difference in life to get a raise than it does to focus on cutting out latès.

The Four Hour Workweek

Lifestyle book about how to automate a business and live the life you want.

Tim Ferris is part of my inspiration for starting this blog from an article he wrote about building credentials through continued personal study and growth. The four-hour workweek is written as a how-to manual automating your business. It tells the story of how Tim was taken over by a very successful fitness supplement business and eventually took an extended period of time off by leaving it all.

Fear setting

Because this book was written in 2007 some of the concepts are not as relevant now but the principles are still very accurate and helpful.
